Chu-Ren Huang, Ph.D.

Chu-Ren Huang is a Chair Professor in Applied Chinese language Studies in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Cornell University and has a distinguished record of scholarly publications as well as extensive experience in interdisciplinary and supranational joint research. He is also an experienced teacher and academic leader, having served as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities from 2008 to 2015. He holds an honorary doctorate from Aix-Marseille and is an Academy Fellow in the Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities. He is also a permanent member of the International Committee on Computational Linguistics. He has been elected president of a number of national and international scholarly societies in the humanities, lexicography, linguistics, and computational linguistics.
